Located in Dallas County Texas, Garland is conveniently situated Northeast of Dallas and West of Rockwall. It shares the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard with both Rowlett and Rockwall. The city of Garland is located along both I-30 and the George Bush Turnpike corridors, providing easy access to Rockwall, Dallas, Richardson and Plano. As of the 2000 census, Garland had a population of 218,768, making it the 10th most populous city in Texas, and the 86th most populous city in the United States.
Rowlett is situated on Lake Ray Hubbard in Northeast Dallas County, approximately 25 miles from downtown Dallas. Located just North of I-30 and soon to be host to the George Bush Turnpike (190), the city is convenient to shopping and entertainment destinations in the Metroplex. However, Rowlett also offers and escape to a relaxes atmosphere of lakeside living including numerous parks, a community waterpark, picnic areas, state of the art community center, plus boating and fishing for its 54,000 residents.
Rockwall, Texas offers the best of both worlds with its close proximity to the conveniences of the Dallas Metroplex in a rural country setting on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. Named the “Perfect Place to Call Home” by Family Circle Magazine, Rockwall is the County Seat of Rockwall County. Located only 22 miles East of downtown Dallas on Interstate 30, Rockwall has a population of just over 25,000 and boasts one of the highest-ranking school systems and one of the lowest tax rates in the State of Texas.
Sachse is a rural community that is growing rapidly with the expansion of the North Dallas telecom corridor and the 190 President George Bush Turnpike extending through the southern part of the City. Approximately 20 miles northeast of downtown Dallas on Highway 78; 3 miles north of Highway 190, which provides quick and easy access to Plano, Richardson, Garland, North Dallas and Central Expressway.
Wylie is located just 24 miles northeast of downtown Dallas and has become one of the fastest growing communities in Collin County, DFW Metroplex and the State of Texas. With this growth, the City has made a transition from "bedroom" community to a "balanced" community combining quality residential living with a healthy business climate.
Ranked #10 in D Magazine’s 2006 Rating the Suburbs, Murphy is a small, fast-growing community with a history that goes back to the early 1900's. Murphy is located in southeastern Collin county, on the Northeastern fringe of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Situated midway between Plano and Wylie on FM 544, Murphy is two miles south of the famous South Fork Ranch. Its borders enclose only 3.8 square miles, and it shares borders with Plano, Richardson, Wylie, Sachse, and Parker. Approximately 20 miles from downtown Dallas and about 30 miles from D/FW Airport, it is a popular choice for those working in downtown.
